Control of classic roller blinds

Classic roller blinds can be operated in three ways – chain, automatic and spring, depending on the type of classic roller blind.

Fitted to the window – by chain, motor (remote control).

Free-hanging with cassette – chain, motor (remote control), spring (operated by a knob mounted on the lower profile).

Free-hanging without cassette – by chain, remote control or wall switch.

MANUAL CONTROL: The plastic or metal chain is the simplest and most frequently used manual control method, while the spring is a very practical, modern way of controlling roller shutters, where the roller shutter swings out and locks by touching the lower profile.

AUTOMATIC CONTROL: Motorised control is particularly convenient when buying larger window coverings, so you can control the light coming into the room at the touch of a button without any hassle. The roller blind motors can be equipped with a rechargeable battery, so that such roller blinds can be installed even where there is no electricity supply.

Fabrics

DEXTERA offers more than 500 hundred classic roller blind fabrics from German, Spanish, Dutch or Turkish manufacturers. The range of fabrics includes light-transmitting, semi-transmitting, fully black-out and reflective fabrics.

– Sun-reflective fabrics – fabrics coated with aluminium or a special material called PERLEX reflect the sun’s rays, thus reducing the sun’s effect during the day and preventing the room from heating up. Reduces air conditioning costs.

– BLACK OUT sunlight-proof fabrics – sunlight-proof fabrics are coated with a special multi-layer polyester coating so that the fabric does not let in any light and the room will be as dark as night when the window is closed. It is the ideal choice for a bedroom or children’s room, a photo studio or any other room that requires full blackout. These fabrics are part of a collection of functional fabrics with 0% light transmission.

– SCREEN fabrics – block harmful UV rays while being light-transmitting, protecting furniture from fading and helping reduce cooling costs. SCREEN fabrics effectively reduce glare, making them ideal for media rooms and offices. The mesh-like fabric is woven from glass fibre yarns and PVC, is easy to maintain and very durable. Available in different solar transmittances (1%, 3%, 5% and 10%).

– Antiviral and antibacterial SCREEN fabrics – an innovative innovation, these fabrics have a fast and long-lasting antiviral and antibacterial effect. It is a very practical choice for public areas with strict hygiene requirements and for creating a safe environment at home or in children’s play areas.

Eco Essence recycled plastic fabrics Eco Essence is a collection of roller blinds with all fabrics made from 100% recycled plastic and:

  • The metal frame and fabric can be recycled again;
  • 11 plastic bottles are recycled to make 1 sqm of fabric;
  • 50% less energy and water is used to produce the fabric;
  • Climate change impact is reduced by 30% compared to conventional fabric production;
  • Maximum width of the fabric is 2.8 m and length 25 m.
  • Fabric weight 194 g/sq.m., thinness 0.23 mm.
  • All fabrics are Oeko Tex certified.
  • Easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

Roller blinds can be mounted on a plastic window, in recesses, ceilings or walls, and on recesses, ceilings or walls.

TYPES OF ROLLER SHUTTERS

  • Freely hanging (with or without a cassette)
  • Fitted to the window (with a cassette) – this type of roller blind comes with side guides that keep the fabric close to the window, allowing for easy opening. The functional mechanism enables the fabric to be locked at the desired height. This type of roller blind is recommended for windows that open.

A classic roller shutter consists of an aluminium tube, an aluminium cassette (STANDART PLUS), metal or plastic brackets, a bottom profile, a control mechanism and fabric. All these components can be selected and adjusted by the customer.

When choosing roller blinds, it is very important to anticipate where they will be fixed. Classic roller blinds can be mounted on the wall, in the ceiling, on the window frame or in a recess. Classic roller blinds are wound on four different sizes of tubes (the tube is the part of the roller blind on which the fabric is wound): 19 mm, 30 mm, 42 mm, 65 mm. DEXTERA also offers several different colours of the mechanisms, such as black, white, grey, metallic, anthracite, in order to ensure that the final product meets the expectations of each customer.
